4 months already?

I know, I can hardly believe how cute he is either. I mean, seriously, look at him.

A couple of posts ago I mentioned that Oliver only sleeps in his car seat. Well that's changed a bit. Last week one night I heard him fuss in the middle of the night and then I fell back to sleep and woke up an hour later and wondered why he stopped fussing. My mother's intuition kicked in and I decided to go check on him. The picture below is how I found him. He was sound asleep. Since this scared the crap out of me I've been buckling him in to his car seat to sleep at night and during the day we let him sleep on his tummy in his crib. I told his pediatrician about the tummy sleeping and she didn't say a word.

Debbie, Midge and Owen came to visit all the way from Queens, NY. Owen is 3 1/2 months older than Simon so they were pretty compatible playmates. Simon is in his "mine" phase, so there some times when he didn't want to share his toys, but overall they had a great time.

Owen loved Simon's play house.

"Beat it grown ups!"

Yes, they even took baths together. They're so cute together because they're exactly the same size and build.

Owen even shared his story time with Simon.

We took them to Bay Beach and we got there before it opened so the boys got to play on the train for a little bit until we got kicked off.

Debbie even had some kind of magical calming effect on Ollie. This is the first time he's slept on his back since he was about a month old.

The rest of these pictures are some of the things we've been up to this summer. We all went up to the beach in Door County with Paul, Veronica, Lola and Frida. Ollie and Frida didn't get to spend too much time on the beach, but I don't think they minded too much.
Our neighbor is a landscape architect and works for a local landscaping company. He borrowed a huge panel truck and this mini excavator to take some bushes out of our yard. Of course this was very exciting for Simon since he loves construction equipment.

Just in case you're interested here's the before and after.

Simon has been really in to building tall Lego towers.
At the farmer's market getting ready to eat a rhubarb muffin. Yum.

Ollie is getting more content to sit in his bouncy seat and watch what everyone is up to. He's also holding toys and bringing them to his mouth.
We've also been hitting a lot of garage sales, which Simon loves. He loves checking everything out and usually when you ask him if he wants to take something home he says no.
We spend a lot of time playing the in the driveway with the hose and buckets, etc. Simon has a little trouble keeping his pants up because he's so skinny, but when they get wet it's even harder. It's funny that he doesn't react that much to his pants falling down anymore because he's so used to hiking them up all of the time.
