What Simon is up to now...

Yesterday Simon started blowing bubbles.


More sling time for Simon. The sling is pretty much his favorite place to be. Thanks Auntie Debbie!

Ahhh, the lazy days of summer. I wish I had a hammock I could lay around in with my legs hanging out.


He's been spending a lot more time awake and doing lots of cute sounds and faces. Yeah, yeah, we've heard, he's not really smiling at us. It's hard to imagine when you talk to him or make faces at him and he smiles that it's for some other reason.


Simon got a new sun hat. I think it makes him look like a tiny old man!

Visits from grandparents.

4 weeks old today. He is starting to be a bit more predictable and developing a routine. We still have good nights and bad nights of sleep. A few days ago he got a pretty bad batch of baby acne. It looks bad, but apparently very common and not a big deal.

Simon in the sling. He loves being in the sling and usually falls asleep immediately. Unfortunately since I herniated the disc in my back I haven't been able to use it.

Simon is three weeks old today

He went to the pediatrician on Friday and he already weighs 8 lb. 13.5 oz. He's starting to get in a more regular routine. Last night and this morning however he has started crying a lot more and won't settle down until he is walked and bounced for quite awhile. I guess that's a new fun stage we'll be dealing with for the next month or more!


When Adolfo holds him he passes out.


When I hold him he listens to me. I hope this is a good indication of how well he'll listen to me when he gets older.

Bouncy seat YEAH

Today Simon tried out his bouncy seat for the first time. He wasn't a big fan until...


He ate and pooped and then he loved it!

Adolfo tried to have some tummy time with him but he fell asleep.

First tub bath!

On Friday Simon's umbilical cord fell off so he was all ready for his first tub bath yesterday.


He loved the warm water and only cried before we raised the water level.


Bathing is definitely a two person job as he gets very slippery when he's wet.


All done with my bath and wrapped up on my towel!


Adolfo thinks his socks are cuter pulled all the way up rather than rolling them over the way they were intended to be worn. Grandma agrees.

One week old

Simon turned one week old yesterday. He went to school with me and met a bunch of students and colleagues. In his down time he got some quality finger sucking in.


A quick cat nap.


Then a bath before bed time. Of course he didn't actually go to bed until 2 am.
