Almost...crawling!

Merry Christmas! We're getting excited to open presents with Tiny. I don't think he cares much about the presents, except for the bows.

Here are a couple of videos of him scooting and pulling himself across the floor. He's just realized he can go see things on his own today so he's been exploring a little bit of the living room.

Just hanging out in his room.

Last weekend he was not feeling well at all. He had a double ear infection, a bad cold and he was teething to top it off. We spent a lot of time like this until he got his antibiotics.

New fun stuff

Simon has been up to all kinds of new stuff lately. He is working hard on crawling. He pulls himself over from sitting and scoots a bit. He also has done the commando crawl a few times as well. He favorite new thing of all though is practicing walking. He pulls to standing with our hands and then wants to walk all over the place. In fact he won't play for very long sitting down before he gets mad and wants to walk.

We went for walk during our first snow storm. It was pretty cold and windy and he didn't make a peep. Also at daycare this week they brought a bucket of snow into his room and let all of them play with it. They said he was one of the few who liked it. Just like his mom.

He's really learned how to splash in the tub now. This particular bath ended with almost no water left in the tub because he was having so much fun splashing.

Simon and papa have been working on this noise making. Simon picked it up after only doing it twice and now everytime we put our hand to his mouth he makes the sound. Cute.

Teething, a cold and crankiness in general...

The past few weeks have been a bit rough at our house. Simon has been working on some new teeth that are bothering him much more than the first two did. Then he caught a really bad cold and has been congested for over a week. Those two things combined have made him crankier than usual and not always so fun to live with. We'll survive.

Simon has been very busy working on tummy time. It's getting increasingly harder to change him because he keeps flipping over. He looks so cute, too bad he really does need a diaper.

I got the sling back out to see if he would still like hanging out in it. He seemed to like it for a little while. I think once he gets more used to riding on a hip he'll like it more.

Simon's new winter cap makes him look like Kenny from Southpark!

We went on a roadtrip to Madison for Adolfo's birthday. This is what Simon looked like the entire way down. We woke him up when we got there after 2 1/2 hours. He enjoyed daddy's shopping spree at REI!

The latest adventures

Check out the toe pointing in this video. Simon might have some ballet classes in his future.

Simon in his Halloween costume from Grandma Gobi. We went trick or treating in our old neighborhood. He only scored me two tiny Snickers bars.

Simon in his Halloween costume from Abuela Maria. We decided not to go trick or treating in the puppy dog costume because we couldn't get his hands to stay outside of the costume, which he needs to tending to his binky. See video below.

Oops, looks like the green beans missed his mouth.

Simon wearing his new parka. He's all set for the cold weather that should be here any day.

6 months old!

He's back, and definitely bigger than ever. Yesterday Simon turned six months. He's been very busy eating solids, getting his first two teeth, being very close to sitting up on his own and working on crawling.

"Say what?"

Hanging out in my high chair, my new favorite place to play.

The floor in my new room is a good place to practice crawling.

Check me out in the cute hat Ruth knit for me.

Almost sitting up on my own.

I even get to help walk the dog in the rain.

Swinging at the park right next to my new house.

I like my high chair so much that I even fall asleep in it.

I like to sit between the pillows in mama and papa's bed and wake papa up in the morning.

My friend Charlotte came to visit all the way from Connecticut. We had a blast!

Gearing up for Halloween in the bat hat.

First bath in my new house! I have my own bathroom to leave my bath toys laying around in.

Hi. Simon's back with a few new pics.

We've been really busy lately with school starting, Adolfo defending the first three chapters of his dissertation (successfully!) and preparing to move. Simon has also been especially busy learning to roll over both ways, eating cereal and veggies and just being his cute little self.

Simon meets his first giant tortoise at the zoo.

Adolfo couldn't resist this little conducter cap.

Look how excited we are to both have light blue hoodies on!

4 months old already!

Yep, it's true, Simon is already four months old. He has been busy rolling over, holding himself up on his arms when he's on his tummy and babbling like crazy. He went to see the doctor this week and his latest stats are:
15 lb. 11.5 oz. (75th percentile)
27 inches long (97th percentile)
44 cm head circumference (90th percentile)

I'll do my best to keep posting new stuff on the blog, but school starts on Tuesday so there may be long periods of time when I don't get a chance.

This is were the cool babies parked their strollers at Artstreet. Beers, bands and funnel cakes, what baby wouldn't want to go to Artstreet?

Awww...dad's with the babes.

Simon LOVES standing up. Look at those cute chubby knees.

"Don't even think about taking this binky away from me!"

"Mom says I'm adorable."

Some bath time fun for your viewing pleasure.

More Simon stuff...

Simon has been talking a lot lately. The talking sounds different every day. Sometimes it sounds like he's giving us a piece of his mind, like in the video, and other times it's just a lot of drool and cute sounds. He's also been having a growth spurt and eating like crazy.

He likes to fall asleep in his bouncy seat and his swing now. The blanket definitely helps him get in the mood for sleep.

Holding his own bottle! Pretty impressive since he hasn't had many bottles. Ahh, but he only did it this one time.

Karate skills on display.

Look at the adorable hat Gobi (Grandma Bobi) knit for him. The kid really can wear a hat well.

Good Morning!

Here's a little video mix of some of the stuff Simon has been up to lately. Enjoy...

This weekend

Simon had both of his ladies over this weekend. Madisyn came over on Friday night and Lola was over on Saturday night. He's already a playah.

They love watching the bugs together.

Lola telling Simon what dorks their parents are.

Simon checking out his new flash cards. He LOVES them. Thanks Andrew & Cherie!

Howdy

Simon started day care yesterday. According to his report card he did really well, except for being scared of all of the new noises. He also painted his feet, sang Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater and listened to some Mother Goose stories. He was completely wiped out when he came home. So wiped out that he slept through the night for the first time!

Simon checks a melon for ripeness at the grocery store today. He's so helpful.

He likes to fly, but you have to beware of the drooling.

More flying.

Passed out cold on papa's lap.

Putting up with another kiss, does it ever end?

Even the dog wants to kiss him.

Visitors abound!

I know it's been awhile since I've posted anything because we've had company for the past two weeks. Simon's Aunt Karla came first for a week and then Uncle Frederic and Gimbo (Grandpa Jimbo) came for a week.

Simon's been holding his head up on his own so he gets to play in his jumparoo and sit in his bebe pod chair.

He's still working on sucking his thumb. He's getting a lot better at getting his hand to his mouth, but he often gets a bunch of fingers along with his thumb.

General cuteness...

He loves going for walks in his stroller now. He gets to sit up and look at everything going on in the neighborhood.

More cuteness...
