It's been pretty hectic around here lately. Simon had his second birthday and Oliver doesn't like to sleep much. Here is a rare moment when I was able to lay Oliver down and he actually stayed asleep.
We took the boys to the zoo a few weeks ago. Simon really loved seeing the animals up close and some of them got really close.
Oliver was less impressed with the animals.

Why not put a basket on your head and show it to your brother?

It's really hard to get a posed shot of Simon now because every time we try to take his picture he cries. He's crying because he wants to see the pictures on the camera, he doesn't understand that we have to take pictures to get them on the camera.
We started the day by going to our favorite restaurant for breakfast. Then we went to the children's museum. We walked in to the museum and we were immediately confronted with three big groups of school children. Despite the crowds we still had a great time, such a good time in fact that this is what Simon looked like on the way home. I should add here that he NEVER falls asleep in his car seat.
Here are some shots of Simon opening his big present.

"Is that what I think it is?"

"Woohoo, let's go!"

"Yes, I've got junk in my trunk."

Later in the day we planted some flowers. We found some worms while planting and Simon thought that was really great. He's really in to bugs right now and seeing any kind of live insect is pretty exciting.

After watering the new plants we had to drink a lot from the hose and squirt stuff. This was the dirtiest and wettest I've ever seen Simon and I think just a preview of what I have to look forward to with three boys. Yes, I said three.

Here's Simon at the end of his birthday modeling his new pajamas.

The next day we had a birthday party with the usual suspects. They enjoyed some red velvet cake that Adolfo made. All of our friends were nice enough to say that the egg shells in the cake didn't bother them. How sweet.

Simon loves opening presents now. He got a lot of big brother presents when Ollie was born so he's had a lot of practice. It's always nice though to have a few friends to help you get your presents open.
Lately people have been saying how much Simon looks like Adolfo. We used to always hear that they could see some of both of us.
I think I know what they mean...
