We went up to Door County to the Pumpkin Fest on an absolutely beautiful day.

Simon loved the trash can cat or "gato" at Pumpkin Fest.
Simon and his posse went trick or treating at an indoor event. He seemed to like seeing all of the kids in their costumes and he really got the hang of having candy handed to him. He didn't want to eat any of his candy, but he did get an apple that he loved.

He wore a cute hand me down monkey costume that my friend Martha sent him. Thanks Marth!

Just a cute picture of my boys.

Mimi came to visit again and he seemed to remember her from the summer. Since she left he's been saying that she went to "Florda".

Here's Simon showing off some of his mad Spanish skills.
We've been doing a lot of raking, with lots more still to do. Simon loves his rake and being out in the yard doing chores.

This is our last picture with Max in it. Last week we had to make the hard decision to put him to sleep. We all miss him very much and Simon has been asking for him. Of course this has been especially tough for me since I've had Max for 16 years. I miss him every morning when I eat my cereal and I still think I see him around every corner.

We will miss Max on our visits. He was a special cat. You were very good to him. Ret in peace indeed!
Maxina, I'll miss you terribly. You were the most special cat. Thanks for letting me kiss you on the lips over and over. Love, Sara
It is hard to imagine visiting Green Bay without Max. He was all you can ask for in a cat. I will especially miss watching the interspecies love between Max and Maggie.
